Manufactured: In the Boeing Airplane Company in Wichita, Kansas.
History: The plane was used by the Army and stationed in Sikeston, Missouri, Hemet, California, Oxnard, Califorrnia, Glendale, Arizona and Ontario, California. William L. Fisher (our founder, Darryl’s, grandfather) purchased the plane in 1946 for $1,500 (the original cost of the airplane was approximately $11,000 in 1940). This plane has flown four generations of the Fisher family and is near and dear to the family.
Ford GPW Jeep
Built: 1942
Manufactured: Willys-Overland (MB), Ford (GPW)
History: The Willys MB and the Ford GPW, both formally called the U.S. Army Truck, 1⁄4‑ton, 4×4, Command Reconnaissance, commonly known as the Willys Jeep, Jeep, or jeep, and sometimes referred to by its supply catalogue designation G503, were highly successful American off-road capable, light military utility vehicles. Over 600,000 were built to a single standardized design, for the United States and the Allied forces in World War II, from 1941 until 1945. This also made it (by its light weight) the world’s first mass-produced four-wheel drive car, built in six-figure numbers
North American AT-6
Manufactured: The T-6G was an earlier model AT-6/T-6 reconstructed from 1949 to 1953.
History: The lineage of the T-6 design can be traced back to 1935. From 1938 to 1951 over 14,000 aircraft were built. Known as the “pilot maker” the North American T-6 Texan was the final hurdle facing World War II pilot candidates and was used by the United States, Canada, and England to prepare them for combat. After World War II, it continued to be used as a trainer all around the world until the 1990s.
The airplane was previously owned by Bob Lessman in Sacramento, CA. Bob served in the United States Marine Corp.
